About this patch… This patch updates Speed Demon 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 or 1.2.1 (on-line distribution) to Speed Demon 1.2.2. It will not update the CD-ROM version of Speed Demon. If you obtained Speed Demon from a CD that came with a magazine or a shareware compilation, you will need to use the "Speed Demon CD 1.2.2 patch" application instead. What's fixed in version 1.2.2: •The "Time Expired" message will not appear upon completing a track level. •We had the car leaning correctly the first time. It's back to normal now. What's fixed in version 1.2.1: •Fixed potential problem in detecting multiple CH Products / JoyManager devices •Added weapons option; you may now play without them •Increased radar range in non-demolition derby scenarios •Labeled the "difficulty" control more accurately •Added support for the CH Pro Throttle and for reverse/drive switches on CH / Joymanager devices that may support them. •Fixed a possible conflict with MacOS 8 - if the interface buttons don't appear, this should fix it. What's fixed in version 1.2: •Added preferences setting for steering sensitivity (defaults to setting from previous versions.) Many thanks to Jonathan E. Durkee of Red Planet Software for his freeware slider control "RadSlider." •Moved the difficulty selection to the preferences dialog •The difficulty selection now affects the curviness of the road as well as your time limits (defaults to setting from previous versions) •The car now leans out of curves instead of into them •Fixed a refresh problem in the preferences dialog •Fixed a potential problem with the registration system What's fixed in version 1.1: •Horrible things happened to the graphics on 601 and 603 based machines using the default preferences settings on monitors greater than 640x480. Fixed. •The turning radius has been decreased in the demolition derby. •The enemy cars are easier to kill in single-player demolition derby games. •Collision detection in the demolition derby has been improved. •An extra sound channel was added.
